Country Life's fresh vegetable motif, shown here in the San Jose Symphony's Decorator's Show House. The Brunswig & Feis black and white swag border starts from the ceiling and layers down the garden effect bringing the outdoor hydrangea into this bright and cheerful sun lit room. The contrast of the very nearly primary color use brought this engaging space to the front cover of Better Homes and Gardens, "Window and Wall", Special Edition.

This room used as the main eating area has a full kitchen and pantry off to the right side opening and a formal dining to the left. Inspired by the large window wall this became a comfortable place to use as a sitting room to read the morning paper while enjoying a morning beverage. Brightly lit, the sun brings the light through, popping out the swag and 4 featured theme vegetables on the rug below (artichoke, eggplant, tomato, and asparagus).
